Mothering You Is…

Re-learning the joy in simple blessings and sacred moments.

Mothering you IS:

…smelling the familiar scent of your head as I kiss it dozens of times each day.

…holding you before and after sleep, and letting the warm silence tell the story of our hearts.

…feeling an indescribable sense of awe every time you crack a clever joke, show immense kindness toward someone else, or get lost in the wonder of the world all on your own.

…doing everything I possibly can to “soften” for you, while the world tries to make me harder.

…wanting to fast forward time to see who you become, while wanting to freeze it in your state of brilliant innocence, all at the same time.

…my greatest privilege, a sacred honor, a job I will never tire from, no matter how tired I become.

A big part of what I was born to do.
