Our Philosophy & Approach

Our Holistic Care philosophy is based on 7 core beliefs.

  1. We believe that every mama needs and deserves to be cared for, but that the current support structures and services available are incredibly insufficient when it comes to both quality and accessibility.

  2. We believe that self-love and self-care are not selfish; they are the critical pre-requisites for being able to love and care for anyone else, especially children.

  3. We believe motherhood is one of the greatest opportunities that life gives us to heal our inner child, cultivate the life-changing skill of self-trust and transform how we show up in the world for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

  4. We believe there is no “right” way to parent or make decisions; that the best that any of us can do at any given time is to approach the situation with good intention and do the best we can with the resources available to us in that moment. Then learn from the experience/outcome and apply those learnings to the next scenario.

  5. We believe that any meaningful, lasting change happens when one is aware of a core truth, meets that awareness with self-trust and is willing to take action against it.

  6. We believe that laughter and amusement is energetic medicine to the mind, body and spirit; finding humor and perspective in any situation is important to shift its power over oneself.

  7. Most importantly, we believe in YOU… your ability to navigate the most challenging moments gracefully, your ability to “show up” even when it feels hard, your commitment to loving yourself and your family, …. we will believe in you, even on the days you feel unable to believe in yourself.

Our Thrival Framework(TM) is designed to help any mama define and live intentionally as a balanced, Whole Woman. It is based on 2 key principles:

  1. THRIVAL SELF-CARE MODEL

Intentionally defining and working towards a state of balanced Emotional Wellness, Physical Wellness and Spiritual Wellness surrounded by a formula for continuous growth.

2. CONNECTED CARE COMMUNITY

In contrast to what the traditional societal structure might lead you to believe, wellness during the matrescence period is not a one-dimensional path. You need WAY more than a mere 6-week postpartum visit with your OB/GYN. Our MULTI-dimensional approach to prenatal, postpartum and early maternal care is based on this belief.

We call it your Connected Care Community and we help you assemble a personalized one with all the support, services and care experts YOU need or want (and none that you don’t). Our Care Experts included tried and vetted practitioners in the areas of Chiropractic Care, Pelvic Floor PT, Birth & Postpartum Doulas, Functional or Homeopathic Medicine, Vibrational Healing, Energy Medicine, Nutrition, Personal Training, Lactation Support, Sleep Consultants, Housekeeping & Household duties, Social Connection, Life Coaching, Career Transitions, Conscious Parenting, Mental Health Counselors and MORE…

Throughout my own journey of carrying, birthing and nurturing 2 babies, I finally assembled my own baseline Care Community. The 4-year path to achieving this was rocky and cumbersome… waiting weeks for mental health appointments, trying providers that left me feeling uneasy and sometimes even worse off than I was, wasted time at ineffective treatment appointments, hours (if not days) of Googling and increasing my own anxiety. My goal is to save you from having a similar experience by coordinating the RIGHT support for what you need when you need it, so that you can save your energy (and maybe a few hormonal tears) for yourself and your baby.

After the initial intake session with a Mama’s Thrival Pregnancy & Postpartum Care Coach, we’ll determine the elements you need in your Connected Care Community. Some may be delivered by a Mama’s  Thrival resource, while others may be delivered through one or more practitioners in our Care Expert Network.

Mama’s Thrival Focus

The sphere of thrival_Revised-04.png

We believe thriving starts as an “inside job”. To thrive in ways that help others (especially your children), you must first cultivate a sense of Thrival inside yourself.
(WAY easier said than done in the early days of parenthood, BTW!)

From there it is a ripple effect outwards… to your family/children, your work, your community and the world. This expanding journey takes time, but it’s so important.

At Mama’s Thrival we focus on the first three ”layers” and trust that the broader impact you’ll have in the community and the world will happen naturally.

Our first and foremost priority is YOU… helping you build the connections, tools and mindset you’ll need to feel balanced, well and grounded in childbirth and in your early awkward days of parenting thereafter. Achieving this state isn’t a silver bullet. It’s a continuous journey of ups and downs, growth periods and regressions all supported by a steady suite of tools and practices to be called upon when an awareness calls for it.

Those conversations and interest areas naturally bleed outwards into the family layer… how to Thrive in the context of your family unit, which can be tricky. For example, how do you care for others when you’re still figuring out how to care for YOURSELF in a new role? How do you show up for others in ways you want to when YOU’RE being massively triggered in those same moments? How do you navigate seasonal transitions in your marriage or other family relationships? And on, and on… There is so many support mechanisms available to you, so you’re not weathering this overwhelming maze alone. We’re here to bring them right to your mind/body/soul’s doorstep.

Then there’s work… so often talked about as a separate part of life, when in fact work and a career is right smack dab in the middle of it all, especially for women. It can be a source of creation and inspiration OR a chronic source of stress, guilt and heaviness. Here we dissect which side of the spectrum you’re on relative to your tangible goals, AND how you want to feel about and at work. Through invisible mindset work (visioning, removing limiting beliefs, confidence building, etc.) and visible practical work (resume reviews, personal branding, network connections, etc.) we get this part of your life working for your life and its goals instead of against them.

By focusing on these 3 layers, you are able to show up in your community and the world as a happier, more confident, higher vibration version of yourself to live the legacy you’re here to leave.
