Today I Held You Extra
Dear Jada,
Today in between running errands, bringing you to a lunch meeting with our financial advisor, and going home for an hour to feed you before picking up your sister at school, I chose to snuggle you for that hour.
I left the dishes alone, let the sanitizing wait, and kept the groceries on the counter. I just snuggled you for an hour and got lost.
I thought about what you will do for a living, who you are going to fall in love with, and who you will be. Or should I say - who you already are, but will just become more of. I thought about the years ahead when you won't fit in my arms, and how that time is not far away.
So today I just sat quietly and presently, and cherished the smell of your head against my chest, your phantom smiles, and your sweet coos as you peacefully slept. I am so grateful to have you in my life, to have you here as part of our family, and for you to finally be [back] in this world. I can't wait to get to know you more and more, forever and ever.
Thank you for an extraordinary moment in today's otherwise ordinary day.
Much love,
Mommy
