My Daily “Mom” Prayer

A prayer I wrote and read every morning to enter the day (mostly) grounded, intentional, present and patient.

Dear God,

Please help me be my best self today, so that I can model for my girls what it looks like to be a joyful, strong, conscious, kind woman.

Please fill me with patience when I am tested, perspective if I get restless and presence to create how I want to feel in each moment.

Please help me understand that it won’t always be this imbalanced, and to make the most of this fleeting time.

Please empower me to draw healthy boundaries and stick to them, so to avoid projecting the unhealthy burden of resentment onto my children.

Please help me create healthy balance and security for all by enthusiastically integrating my children into our life instead of forsaking ours for theirs.

Please grant me the wisdom to know that the ideal is just an idea, while reality is truth. Help me surrender to truth instead of resisting its all-consuming force.

Please help me be light, act and feel in accordance with my highest, authentic self and experience this day as the gift it is.

Please help me find meaning in all of it and bask in the revelations as they come.

For today is the last day of its kind, and the first day I can choose to change what is no longer serving me and my family.

AMEN.
